The Mission

A community of directors, writers, actors, and other production professionals centered around networking and workshopping scenes. The focus is not on the final product but instead on the relationships built within the 1-hour shoot session of each team.

Our goal is to further develop the skills in a director’s craft and process. In doing so, we build trusting relationships that can further onto bigger projects.

Just as an artist has to sketch, a director needs to workshop.

The scenes could be bits from a working screenplay from a writer or a pre-existing scene that a director wants to explore. Whatever it may be, it will be something that will be simplified and explored at the smallest level.

The Workshop

What happens:

The director will go and make an appointment with the Director’s Workshop for dates and availability. Once the day is cleared they can pay out the fee for the day. The director will then find or work with actors to come up with a scene that can be shot within a 1hour limit time. On the day of the shoot, they can

Where?

Currently, we are small in size and sessions will be held in my home. Therefore, if you are new and we haven’t met before, we will have to set up a zoom call or a meeting before we start any session.

Total Time: 3 Hrs

Generally, each workshop is up to 2 scenes (1-3 pages/scene) with a 1-hour limitation, and 1 hr for reflection & networking. For more specifics for each role and cost please check out our breakdowns based on your focus.
